Protect from rising damp
Making your home a healthier place
Rising dampness can be combated by retrofitting a damp course.
Plaster and materials that have been ingrained with salt from the damp rising will have to be removed, otherwise they will continue to absorb moisture from the home and the damp wall will continue to degrade.
What we do to install a damp course:
- Remove the decayed skirting board
- Removing the damaged wall plaster to a height of one metre
- Drilling a series of holes into the lowest visible mortar joint and injecting them with a water repelling chemical
- Replastering the effected area
Think about...
If the room affected by the damp is below ground level, you may need to tank the room by installing a waterproof membrane or a cementitious waterproofing layer.
